The main purpose of directed putaways is locating the optimal storage location for inventory. We know from experience that multiple commodities and/or customers may be located within a storage facility, and each may have varying storage requirements. With this in mind, WAREPAK/400 has been designed to allow the user to define the putaway sequence that takes place when the system is searching for the best storage location. WAREPAK/400 utilizes user defined bay types, velocity codes, date ranges, other inbound product and zones to determine the storage location and then generates the appropriate putaway task.

Directed putaways are generated through the Order Header Summary. Once the putaway option is initiated the system goes through the search algorithm that the user has defined to determine the optimal random putaway location. (WAREPAK/400 also supports fixed pick storage locations)

Putaway Task
WAREPAK/400 allows you to perform putaway tasks via RF or a terminal with the ability to print putaway tickets as needed. The printed putaway lists SKU, lot number, code date, quantity per, total quantity and the putaway location. While the putaway task is being performed via RF, inventory and product variances are recorded and updated real-time. Printed putaway tickets can be processed upon completion with a manual entry terminal. Once putaway verification is completed, inventory is updated and any variances (over or short) can be quickly and easily reconciled.

All finalized putaway activities are recorded in the Receiving History File for audit trail and reporting purposes.
